INFINITE ARCH

Hanging below a skylight at The Nashville International Airport during the Spring of 2018, this piece utilizes two of Bonnaroo Music Festival’s symbols, the Arch and the Infinity Symbol, which is comprised of three open circles.

“When I came across this opportunity, I instantly saw a connection between the infinity symbol and my artwork, which is often an investigation of rings. Similarly, my practice and the Bonnaroo brand, are both working to showcase themes of unity and togetherness as well as recycling and respecting the earth,” says Langsam.

The installation is comprised of five interlocking infinity symbols, which gradate in size, and form an arch across the skylight. The rings were fabricated using fallen logs which were cut into many small pieces along their ring lines, and then arranged back together into the shape of the symbol. All the pieces were encased in clear epoxy resin. This allowed the light that came in from above to shine through the piece, giving it a sparkling or glimmering effect.
