VALLEY ARTS WINDOW

Prior to this piece being installed, there was an empty indent in the façade of the building. It looked like it was for a window except that it led to concrete. Langsam’s installation was designed specifically to fit into that space and resemble a window.

The installation is located in the Valley Arts District in Orange, NJ, an area that gentrification is slowly taking ahold of. Langsam used bark and wood, materials very varied in color, but from the same tree species, as reference to these changes.
